Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Roth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eiji Kawashima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roth comes to the cage accompanied by Shawn Michaels - Sexy Boy. Daniel Roth could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Eiji Kawashima's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Roth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eiji Kawashima! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roth throws a series of punches but Kawashima moves out of range. Kawashima has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Roth is landing a low percentage of strikes. Roth looks for a takedown but Kawashima sprawls well. Roth feints a jab promting Kawashima to slip. Roth then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kawashima slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Roth thows a body shot but no joy. Kawashima slaps away a takedown attempt from Roth, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kawashima connects with a good right hand that stumbles Roth. Roth circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Kawashima tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Kawashima checks a low kick from Roth. Roth throws a wild body kick that Kawashima sees coming a mile off. Roth throws a series of punches but Kawashima avoids them all with ease. Roth checks a leg kick nicely. Kawashima throws a nice inside leg kick. Roth closes the distance and clinches up with Kawashima, looking for a takedown. Roth pushes Kawashima against the cage but Kawashima circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Roth. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kawashima throws a body kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roth looks to land a left hand but Kawashima moved out of range nicely. Roth closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kawashima did well to prevent Roth getting side control. Kawashima trying to control but Roth postures up.
Roth throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kawashima is positioning himself well to prevent Roth advancing to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kawashima avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Roth. Roth thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kawashima is pressing down on Roth's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawashima pulls Roth in to control the position. Roth trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kawashima wants to sweep but no luck. Kawashima has his hands on Roth's head, controlling the position. Roth looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Roth preventing the sweep. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roth wants to control from the top but Kawashima keeps moving.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Eiji Kawashima hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Roth misses with a hook to the body
and Kawashima counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kawashima thumps Roth with a low kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Roth. Kawashima does a little dance to reset his feet. Kawashima throws a leg kick but Roth sees it coming and checks it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawashima dips to his left and cracks Roth with an uppercut! Roth misses with a takedown attempt - Kawashima sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Roth thows a body shot but no joy. Kawashima pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Roth misses with a wild body shot. Daniel Roth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A shot to the body from Roth misses and Kawashima counters with a low kick, right behind Roth 's knee. Kawashima scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
It looks like Daniel Roth has been cut. Kawashima tries to land a front kick but Roth steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Roth tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kawashima swivels and escapes. Kawashima attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Roth delivers a nice body kick. Roth shoots in for a double leg but Kawashima sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kawashima lands with a nice body punch. Roth is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roth catches Kawashima with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Eiji Kawashima is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kawashima feints and then cracks Roth's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Roth down. Roth just misses with a punch to the body.
Roth fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kawashima checks it well. A looping hook to the body misses from Roth. Kawashima does a little dance to reset his feet. Roth fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kawashima manages to avoid it. Roth shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kawashima sprawls well. Kawashima wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Roth gets slowly back to his feet. Roth looks to score with a jab to the body but Kawashima is just out of range. Roth throws a jab when Kawashima was well out of range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Roth misses with an attempted mid kick.
Roth tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kawashima was well out of range. Poor timing from Roth. Roth ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kawashima moves away. Roth has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Roth there as he acknowledges the shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eiji Kawashima dominated that round. The cut man is working on Daniel Roth's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Roth drops his hands momentarily and Kawashima takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kawashima feints and then cracks Roth's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Roth down. Roth swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Roth misses with a double jab
and Kawashima counters with a leg kick. Roth throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kawashima's waist but Kawashima gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roth off to one side. Horrible takedown by Roth or perhaps it was just good defense by Kawashima which made him look bad. Kawashima tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kawashima throws a leg kick but Roth sees it coming and checks it nicely. Nice straight punches there by Roth. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Roth. Roth closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kawashima circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Roth. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A slapping leg kick lands for Kawashima.
Eiji Kawashima seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kawashima feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Roth sprawling to the canvas! Roth rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kawashima finish him?!
Roth is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kawashima fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Roth. Oh Roth is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kawashima scoring well with a low kick there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawashima ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Kawashima lands a leg kick that knocks Roth off balance momentarily. Kawashima scoring well with a low kick there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A shot to the liver by Kawashima. Beautiful body shot. Kawashima lands a nice leg kick that just misses Roth's sensitive parts. Kawashima throws a monster overhand right that drops Roth! Kawashima follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
