Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Reggie Slaughter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Bennett!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaughter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Slaughter has a takedown stuffed.
Bennett lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Slaughter tries to clinch there but Bennett circles away.
Slaughter throws a combination that misses
and Bennett counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Slaughter scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Bennett throws the left hand but Slaughter avoids the punch easily.
Bennett is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Slaughter takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bennett jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Slaughter tries to clinch up.
A swing and a miss from Slaughter.
Slaughter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bennett to score with a decent uppercut.
Bennett uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Slaughter.
Slaughter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bennett counters with a series of strikes. Slaughter will be more careful next time no doubt.
Bennett has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Bennett cracks a nice hook into Slaughter's ribs.
Bennett throws a nice looking combination but Slaughter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bennett connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Slaughter's hands.
Bennett has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Slaughter takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Bennett connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Bennett jabs Slaughter to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Bennett connects with a looping right hand.
Slaughter moves to clinch but Bennett breaks away
and Bennett counters with a nice body shot.
Slaughter blocks a jab.
Slaughter throws a right hand that Bennett ducks under and follows up with a left that Bennett also avoids with ease.
Bennett throws a big shot that misses.
Bennett ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slaughter moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bennett connects with a body shot that sends Slaughter's belly button to the back.
Bennett scores with a nice head shot.
Slaughter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bennett manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Slaughter misses with a double jab
and Bennett counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bennett uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Slaughter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bennett avoids it really well and circles away.
Slaughter takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slaughter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bennett throws out the jab.
Slaughter throws the left hand but Bennett avoids the punch easily.
Slaughter takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Slaughter looks to land a combination but Bennett avoids it well.
Slaughter shoots in for a takedown but Bennett shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reggie Slaughter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bennett moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Slaughter. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bennett lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Slaughter tries to clinch
and Bennett counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Bennett dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Slaughter slips under a jab.
No luck for Slaughter with that takedown attempt.
Slaughter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bennett ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Reggie Slaughter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Slaughter dives in for a single leg takedown but Bennett sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Bennett.

Bennett looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Bennett lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Robert Bennett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slaughter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Bennett counter with a right hand.
Bennett lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.


Slaughter is rocked!
Robert Bennett is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Slaughter misses with a combination
and Bennett counters with a huge left! Slaughter is in big trouble! He's backing up but Bennett isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Slaughter from any more damage. A dominating finish by Bennett!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robert Bennett!
