Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Terry Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Egor Sumovan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Terry Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Egor Sumovan!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells closes the distance and clinches up with Sumovan, looking for a takedown. Wells pushes Sumovan against the cage but Sumovan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A solid leg kick lands there for Wells.
Sumovan throws a series of punches but Wells avoids them all with ease.

Sumovan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Wells's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Wells wants to control but Sumovan postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sumovan lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.


It looks like Terry Wells has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The strikes coming from Sumovan are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Wells manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sumovan's best efforts.
Sumovan is taking a breather. Wells says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Sumovan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wells is just riding it out for now. Sumovan eventually gives up the hold.

Sumovan is working for a kimura but Wells is defending it quite comfortably.

Sumovan stops Wells from getting back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sumovan lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sumovan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wells with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sumovan is trying to control the action in half guard but Wells is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Wells is controlling Sumovan's trapped leg to prevent Sumovan from advancing to side control.
Sumovan is looking to take a break and control but Wells is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wells manages to get to full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sumovan lands a couple of digs.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wells is on top in guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wells shoots for a takedown but Sumovan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sumovan clinches.
Wells tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sumovan smiles and moves away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wells showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sumovan.
Wells tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sumovan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


The fight stays on the outside here - Wells looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wells shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sumovan as he jumps to the side.

Sumovan working over Wells with some ground and pound. Wells looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Sumovan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Sumovan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Wells looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sumovan is one step ahead there.

Egor Sumovan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Sumovan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wells was covering up waiting for the punch and Sumovan finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sumovan stands and steps away. Wells gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sumovan wants to control but Wells is keeping him busy.
Sumovan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wells. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wells pushes Sumovan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sumovan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Sumovan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wells stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Sumovan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sumovan throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Sumovan has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Wells looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sumovan stalks Wells and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wells's face. Wells staggers backwards, shaken.

Sumovan forces Wells back against the cage and clinches.
A nice right hand lands inside from Wells.
Sumovan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wells is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Sumovan turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sumovan manages to end up in side control.
You can see the frustration on Wells's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sumovan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wells sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Wells is trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sumovan decides to stand back up. Sumovan steps back and let's Wells get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Egor Sumovan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Egor Sumovan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sumovan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
