Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mitch Connel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Grind!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grind closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Connel looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Grind stalling.
Grind is looking to advance position but Connel won't allow it.
Connel is trying to stand.
Grind is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Grind's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Johnny Grind hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Connel dives in for a single leg takedown but Grind sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Grind is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Grind has had enough of the clinch but Connel keeps him there for the moment.

Connel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Grind closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Grind lands in his opponent's guard.
Grind looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Grind lands a couple of digs.
Grind connects with a couple of short punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grind stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Connel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Grind showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Grind tries to free his leg and advance position but Connel is retaining full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Grind decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Grind gets a takedown into half guard.
Grind sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Grind is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Grind wants to pass the guard but Connel is defending well.

Grind is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Connel doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Grind.

Grind maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Connel could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Grind has cracked it and Connel is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Grind!
