The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Joe.
Stocth looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Joe shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stocth is trying to defend but Joe finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Joe winds up and cracks Stocth with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Joe is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Joe is looking for a kimura but Stocth is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Joe to get the leverage.
Stocth is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Joe scores with a couple of nice shots.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Joe looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joe lands strikes from half guard.

Stocth is rocked!
Joe scores with a big shot! Stocth's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Stocth! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
