Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Noonan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua's entrance music is AVANTASIA-Seven Angels. A fine choice. Noonan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 3DD - Kryptonite kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rua connects with a looping right hand.
It looks like Michael Noonan has been cut.
Rua moves forwards but Noonan connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Noonan with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua throws a shot from downtown. Noonan moves away and avoids it.
Noonan throws an off balance right hand
and Rua counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Noonan tries to improve position but can't.
Noonan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

I would not like to be Rua right now.
Rua is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Loucademia muito crazy, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Noonan looking to break Rua's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Rua remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Noonan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
My spies in High Voltage Gym inform me that Noonan has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Noonan is looking for the choke from the back position but Rua is controlling his hands well.

Noonan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Rua is in bad spot here.
Noonan is throwing shots to the body but Rua manages to wriggle free. Noonan pounces on him again and ends up in Rua's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Noonan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Rua looks to throw the jab but Noonan is out of range.
Noonan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Noonan throws an overhand right that lands on Rua's shoulder, as Rua tries to avoid the shot.
Noonan walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rua checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Noonan fails with the takedown
and Rua cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Noonan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rua sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rua ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Noonan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rua.
Rua throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Rua misses with a few strikes there.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rua crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Noonan - the referee stops the clock and Rua gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Noonan. Rua manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rua shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Noonan is pressing down on Rua's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Noonan is looking for a triangle but Rua pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rua keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Noonan's head.
Rua avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Noonan looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Noonan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rua sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Noonan's guard.
Noonan is trying to control but can't.
Rua is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Noonan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rua tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Rua frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rua lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Noonan sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Rua stands up and beckons Noonan to join him on the feet.
Noonan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rua quickly recovers to half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lyoto Rua will probably get the nod.

Michael Noonan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Noonan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
