Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earl Bertane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bradley Nowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bertane comes into the arena with Eminem - Above The Law blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Nowell's choice of entrance music: Doin Time. Bradley Nowell is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Earl Bertane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bradley Nowell!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bertane on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Nowell. Nowell obviously looking to wear him down.
Nowell keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nowell goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Bertane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Earl Bertane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bertane gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Nowell.
Nowell has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bertane is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Bertane will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nowell lands the left hand.
Nowell throws out a loose jab but Bertane uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bertane fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nowell jabs Bertane to the body, keeping him at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bertane with a poor takedown
and Nowell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Earl Bertane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bertane shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Nowell counters with a straight right hand.
Bertane tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nowell swivels and escapes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nowell misses the jab.
Bertane fails with the takedown.

Bertane drives through with a takedown into Nowell's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Nowell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bertane's guard.
Nowell looking to pass the guard.
Nowell throws a big elbow that misses.
Nowell trying to control but Bertane is working from the bottom.
Nowell would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bertane utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Bertane is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nowell is aware though and is defending well.
Nowell stopping the sweep attempt from Bertane.
Nowell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bertane swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bertane keeping moving, preventing Nowell from controlling successfully.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nowell trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bertane's guard.

Bertane is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nowell rolls with it to try and escape but Bertane cranks on the arm and Nowell is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Earl Bertane!
A relieved looking Earl Bertane thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
