Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicodemo Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romero has chosen Lords Of Salem as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nicodemo Romero!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor drops his hands momentarily and Romero takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


It looks like Matthew Connor has been cut.
Connor just misses with a punch to the body.
Nicodemo Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Connor regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Romero.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Romero working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

No joy there for Romero, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Romero shoots in looking for a takedown but Connor manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Romero's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Romero is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Connor is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Connor tries to buck Romero off but Romero is having none of it.
Romero is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Let's hope that Romero has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Romero is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Connor is just riding it out for now. Romero eventually gives up the hold.

That's time! Connor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Romero swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Connor.

Romero shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Connor sprawls well. Connor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Romero gets slowly back to his feet.

Connor lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Romero backs up against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Connor throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Connor lands with a straight right. Romero didn't see that one coming.
Romero throws a series of punches but Connor moves out of range.
Romero walks into a stiff left hand from Connor.
Connor avoids the body shot from Romero.
Romero ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Romero displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Connor throws out the jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Connor darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Connor cracks Romero with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Romero's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Romero duly obliges.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Connor counters with a two punch combo.


It looks like Nicodemo Romero has been cut.
Romero paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Connor throws a right hand that Romero ducks under and follows up with a left that Romero also avoids with ease.
Matthew Connor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Romero misses with a jab, cross combination.
Connor looks for the body kick but Romero saw that one coming.
Romero throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Some bone on bone action there as Connor checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Romero throws a left and a right that both miss
and Connor counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Romero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Romero scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


Connor is rocked!
Romero shoots in for a takedown but Connor shows good takedown defense.
Oh Connor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Matthew Connor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicodemo Romero.
Connor finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Romero's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Connor falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nicodemo Romero!
Our winner, Nicodemo Romero, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
