Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Renzo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Casey Penn!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn misses with a double jab.
Penn looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Penn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Penn tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Penn to the ground. Penn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Penn lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Penn was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Gracie gets to his feet - Penn follows without any prompting.
Penn scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Penn feints a jab promting Gracie to slip. Penn then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gracie slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Penn scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Penn pulls his head out easily.

Gracie is refusing to be controlled, as Penn sits in half guard.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Penn defends it easily.
Penn is pushing down on Gracie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gracie is fighting to maintain full guard but Penn has managed to sneak the leg through.
Penn is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gracie manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Penn pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gracie back to the cage. Penn follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Penn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Penn manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Penn stalks Gracie and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gracie's face. Gracie staggers backwards, shaken.

Penn lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Penn shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gracie eats them both and turns towards Penn to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Penn, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Penn against the cage but Penn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I would just about give that final round to Casey Penn.
