Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gato Menma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doian Shuden! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Donatello Bradman and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Menma gets caught flat footed, as Shuden shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Shuden drops back looking for a leg! Menma is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Menma manages to kick Shuden off! Shuden jumps back into Menma's guard. Menma controls Shuden momentarily but Shuden frees himself. Shuden chips away with some ground and pound. Shuden makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Menma controls Shuden momentarily but Shuden frees himself. Shuden drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Shuden seems to have locked his on tight now - Menma screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Shuden, as he picks up the win!
