Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ingmar Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gideao Tavares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Scott might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ace Of Spades. The crowd seem to be enjoying Tavares's choice of entrance music: Die Die Die My Darling. Gideao Tavares has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ingmar Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gideao Tavares!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tavares was well out of range. Poor timing from Scott.
Tavares fails with a takedown attempt.
Scott scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Gideao Tavares has been cut.
Tavares misses with a takedown attempt

and Scott counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scott.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Scott throwing strikes from guard but Tavares blocks nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tavares working for a triangle but Scott defends it easily.
Scott seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Tavares is looking for a takedown.

No joy there for Scott, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tavares doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Scott counters by moving into the clinch.

Scott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Scott throws a series of punches but Tavares avoids them all with ease.
Scott throws a right and a left that Tavares avoids nicely.

Scott rushes Tavares and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Scott closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tavares quickly recovers to half guard.

Scott looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Scott looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scott seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tavares for as long as he can get away with.
Tavares blocking the ground and pound attempt from Scott.
Scott wants to pass to mount but Tavares is defending the position.

Tavares is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Scott pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ground and pound from Scott.
Scott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Tavares looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tavares is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Scott.
Scott throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Scott moves into the clinch successfully.
Scott's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Tavares pulls Scott into guard.

Scott's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Scott is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tavares can do to turn this around?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ingmar Scott.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tavares looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Scott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scott.
Scott scores with a one two! Tavares had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Scott digs a right hand into Tavares's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Tavares's gas tank.

Tavares has his foot on Scott's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Scott works his way back into a safe position though.

Tavares is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tavares is breathing heavily.

Scott is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We're going to have a standup here because Ingmar Scott wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Scott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tavares is trying hard to land a takedown here. Scott sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Scott stalks Tavares and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tavares's face. Tavares staggers backwards, shaken.


That has opened up Gideao Tavares's cut even more.

Tavares shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scott sprawls well. Scott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tavares gets slowly back to his feet.

Scott rushes Tavares and presses him up against the cage.

Scott manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Tavares got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tavares has managed to get both his arms back between Scott's legs - danger averted.
Scott pulls Tavares in close to prevent any damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Tavares wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.

Ingmar Scott has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Good exchange - Scott coming out on top.
Scott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scott.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The cut above Gideao Tavares's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Tavares shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scott as he avoids it easily.
Ingmar Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gideao Tavares.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Scott has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tavares uses from the top position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Scott takes the fight into the clinch.
Scott presses Tavares against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Tavares changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Scott fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Scott makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Scott manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tavares on his heels. He'll look to pass Tavares's guard now, I'm sure.
Scott is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Scott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tavares takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Scott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Scott has Tavares up against the cage in a clinch.
Tavares wants to take the fight to the mat but Scott manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Scott throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Scott jumps guard.
Scott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Tavares wants to get back to full guard but Scott has mounted him!

Scott lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tavares is in a horrible position here. Scott smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


Gideao Tavares's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gideao Tavares's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ingmar Scott!
