Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wech Cakes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cakes kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Chris Ross enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wech Cakes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Ross! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cakes tries to clinch but Ross moves out of range. Cakes doesn't manage to clinch there - Ross circles away.

Cakes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ross paws at him with a jab and circles away. Cakes wants to clinch up but Ross keeps it at a distance. Cakes wants to clinch. Ross gets a clinch. Ross drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ross unloads a knee to the mid-section. Cakes lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Cakes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Ross goes for a takedown attempt but Cakes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fight moves into the clinch position. Ross has hold of one of Cakes's legs. Cakes is fighting the takedown attempt but Ross gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Cakes avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Cakes wants to stand but Ross is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cakes trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Ross decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Cakes tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ross counters by clinching up. Ross blocking some punches.

Ross drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ross decides to stand back up. Ross looks gassed! Cakes tries to clinch but Ross moves away and Ross finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Cakes looks to clinch and Ross counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Ross with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ross wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cakes keeps working. Ross tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cakes knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Ross wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cakes keeps working. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cakes clinches but Ross breaks the clinch letting Ross counter with a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross circles away from the clinch attempt and Ross counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ross. Cakes misses with the head strike.

Ross with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Nice body punch from Ross - that landed with a thud.

Cakes closes the distance but Ross moves to the side and Ross counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Cakes tries to kick Ross off in order to stand up. Ross Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Ross is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cakes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Ross has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Cakes!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cakes tries to buck Ross off but he can't manage it. The referee warns Cakes that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Ross with shots to the head and body - Cakes looks very uncomfortable down there. Ross wants to control the pace but Cakes is squirming around nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ross controlling from mount. Cakes's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Ross dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Cakes closes the distance looking to clinch and Ross counters by moving into the clinch. Ross is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cakes can't fight it off and eventually Ross manages to take the fight to the floor. Cakes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Cakes wants to stand and escape but Ross is having none of it. Cakes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ross on the ground. Cakes is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Ross breaks the clinch.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Ross. Ross decides to pull guard. Cakes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ross's guard. Ross looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ross is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ross stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Ross lands with a slapping head kick. Cakes wants to clinch and Ross counters with a low kick, right behind Cakes 's knee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cakes clinches but Ross breaks the clinch and Ross counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ross. Ross pulls guard successfully.
Chris Ross has got the better of the ground game so far. Ross is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cakes wants to stand and escape but instead Ross has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Ross advances to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cakes pushes Ross off looking to stand but Ross dives back in and keeps control.
Ross wants to control but Cakes is keeping him busy. Ross passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cakes! Cakes is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Ross cracks Cakes with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ross lands with some strikes. Ross has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ross tries to control but Cakes wriggling away. Cakes is trying to stand. Ross has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cakes's face.
Cakes tries to buck Ross off but he can't manage it. Ross fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cakes is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Cakes has given up his back here. Will Ross look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Chris Ross showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Cakes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Cakes looks to clinch and Ross counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ross. Ross has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cakes regains guard immediately. Cakes is looking to stand up but Ross isn't so interested in that idea. Ross trying to control but Cakes is working from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ross wants to stand but Cakes is controlling his posture from full guard. Cakes pushes Ross off and gets back to his feet.

Cakes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Wech Cakes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Ross. Cakes tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Ross drags the fight down to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ross striking off his back but it's not causing Cakes any problems. Ross wriggles free and stands up. Cakes tries to clinch and Ross decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cakes's guard. Cakes is looking to stand up but Ross isn't so interested in that idea. Ross wants to control from the top but Cakes keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross gets to his feet - Cakes follows without any prompting. Ross scores with a kick to the body.
Cakes tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ross counters with a flying knee. Nice. Ross shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Ross can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cakes is looking to escape. Cakes is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Cakes wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ross wants to finish this one by submission but Cakes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ross. Ross has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ross is working for a guillotine from mount but Cakes frees his head quite easily.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ross controlling from mount. Wech Cakes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ross looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Ross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ross has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
