Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jai Malek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leeroy Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jai Malek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leeroy Russo! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russo takes a swing at Malek's ribcage but misses. Malek on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Leeroy Russo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Malek fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Russo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Russo tries to clinch up and Malek makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Malek lands a head kick!
Malek tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Russo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Russo tries to clinch up and Malek counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Malek feints and then cracks Russo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Russo down. Russo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. We've been informed that Russo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Malek tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Russo looks to throw the jab but Malek is out of range. Russo gets a clinch.

Russo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Russo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Malek is looking for a guillotine. Russo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Malek is looking for a triangle here but Russo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Russo is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Malek is in real trouble.
Russo is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Malek knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Malek for a finish. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Malek regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Malek might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Oh Malek is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Malek gets a clinch. Malek seems to have got his legs back now. And that's the end of the fight! Leeroy Russo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Russo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
