Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jingle Jingle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jingle's entrance music is Kay Kyser - I got spurs that jingle jangle jingle. A fine choice. Kozlov has chosen Patrioticheskaya Pesnya as his entrance music. Aleksandr Kozlov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jingle Jingle! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aleksandr Kozlov! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kozlov doesn't manage to clinch there - Jingle circles away.
Aleksandr Kozlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jingle uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Jingle dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Jingle circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jingle cracks Kozlov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kozlov tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jingle counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Jingle looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Jingle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. This has been an exciting period of action! Jingle sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kozlov defending well though. Jingle is looking to take a break and control but Kozlov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jingle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kozlov trying to control here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kozlov is not content to let Jingle control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jingle Jingle. A telegraphed right hand from Jingle misses the target. Kozlov takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. We've been hearing reports that Jingle has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Jingle moves away from the strike by Kozlov. Kozlov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jingle counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jingle lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Jingle is looking to advance position but Kozlov won't allow it. Jingle working Kozlov over with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jingle with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kozlov wants to improve his position but Jingle is controlling well.
Kozlov on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Jingle missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jingle keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kozlov can do anything to dispel that myth. Kozlov on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Jingle sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kozlov defending well though. Jingle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jingle drops an elbow to the side of Kozlov's head. Jingle thows a huge punch but Kozlov dodges it nicely.
Kozlov wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jingle works his foot free and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jingle tries to control but Kozlov wriggling away. Jingle landing strikes from the mount and Kozlov is in trouble! Jingle working Kozlov over with strikes here.
Kozlov is rocked! Jingle postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Kozlov in real trouble here! The ref calls for Kozlov to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jingle Jingle! Jingle Jingle is the new lightweight champion! An out of breath Jingle Jingle thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
