PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ruscle Muscle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Muscle comes to the cage accompanied by DMX's- Where My Dogs At. Lyoto Machida will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Machida, as that shot connected.

It looks like Ruscle Muscle has been cut.
Muscle just misses with a punch to the body.
Muscle is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Muscle misses with a looping right.
Machida ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Muscle looks to score with a jab to the body but Machida is just out of range.
Muscle slips a jab from Machida.
Muscle loads up on a big right hand but Machida slips the punch.
Machida ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Muscle misses with a takedown attempt - Machida sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Machida checks a low kick from Muscle.
Muscle looks to throw the jab but Machida is out of range.
No joy there for Machida, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Machida throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Muscle.
Machida pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Muscle throws a half hearted mid kick.
Muscle swings away with a body shot that misses
and Machida counters with a nice uppercut.
Muscle looks to land a body kick but Machida moved away.

Muscle scores with a jab to the head.
Muscle falls off balance throwing a combination
and Machida counters with a three punch combo that has Muscle backing up. Muscle nods at Machida to acknowledge the strikes.

Machida knocks Muscle to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Muscle is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Machida wants to stand but Muscle has his arm trapped.
Muscle tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Machida wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Muscle manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Muscle looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Muscle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Muscle lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Muscle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Muscle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Machida does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Muscle passes the guard and advances to mount!

Muscle looking to secure an arm triangle but Machida defends it well.
Muscle connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Muscle throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Machida because Muscle loaded up on that one.

It looks like Lyoto Machida has been cut.

That has opened up Lyoto Machida's cut even more.
Muscle can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Machida is looking to escape.
Muscle tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Muscle is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Machida can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Machida is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lyoto Machida dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Muscle shoots in looking for a takedown. Machida tries to sprawl out of it but Muscle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Machida manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Muscle postures up in Machida's guard and throws a big left but Machida blocks it.
Machida wants to control the position but Muscle says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Muscle uses his free foot to push down on Machida's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Machida.

Muscle unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Machida wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Muscle celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
