1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Ross! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hurst gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hurst trying to control the position here. Ross controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hurst will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hurst seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Ross sitting in guard here, content to control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hurst moves into the clinch. Hurst lands an uppercut. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hurst takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Hurst lands a left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hurst successfully pulls guard.
Ross sitting in guard here, content to control. Ross really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurst. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hurst is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ross defends well. Hurst is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hurst keeping full guard, as Ross tries to pass. Ross is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hurst has his hands on Ross's head, controlling the position. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ross has eaten all the pies!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Roberto Hurst wasn't doing enough on the ground. A momentary lapse in concentration from Hurst enables Ross to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hurst manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ross looking to control the position here, rather than advance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hurst wants to stand and escape but Ross is having none of it. Ross trying to control the position from guard on top but Hurst is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ross avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Ross stopping the sweep attempt from Hurst. Hurst is breathing heavily. Ross tries to free his leg and advance position but Hurst is retaining full guard. Hurst throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Hurst wants to get back to his feet but Ross is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ross looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ross controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hurst keeping moving, preventing Ross from controlling successfully.
Rick Ross has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Ross gets a double leg takedown into Hurst's guard. Hurst throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Hurst is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ross sitting in guard, not really doing much. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ross stops Hurst from standing up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ross's corner is telling him to maintain position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Ross dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ross dives in and scores a takedown into Hurst's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ross is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ross wants to pass the guard but Hurst is keeping the position. Hurst wants to sweep here but Ross controlling him for the moment. Hurst can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ross controls the pace. Ross must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ross is standing up over Hurst. Hurst looks to escape but Ross dives into side control.
Ross takes a little break here. Hurst wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Ross tries to advance to mount but Hurst denies him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hurst is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ross is controlling him well. Ross moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Ross prevents Hurst from escaping the position. Ross taking a breather here. Hurst wants to get back to his feet. You can see the frustration on Hurst's face as Ross controls the position. Ross misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ross staying calm. Ross is looking to take a break and control but Hurst is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rick Ross. Ross shoots in and gets a takedown into Hurst's guard. Ross is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross tries to free his leg and advance position but Hurst is retaining full guard. Rick Ross has got the better of the ground game so far. Hurst keeping moving, preventing Ross from controlling successfully. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Hurst trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Hurst fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ross, pushing him back against the cage. Hurst trying to stall but Ross improves his position.
Ross has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hurst regains guard immediately. Hurst keeping moving, preventing Ross from controlling successfully. Hurst striking from his own guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ross trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hurst is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ross is aware though and is defending well. Ross engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. This has been an exciting period of action! Hurst working a defensive guard here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ross looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rick Ross wasn't active enough on the ground. Ross bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Ross showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Ross's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Hurst trying to keep a closed guard but Ross is proving a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hurst drives through with a takedown into guard. Ross tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hurst drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hurst jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ross is pulling down on Hurst's head. It's preventing any offense from Hurst, at least for the moment. Hurst wants to get up but he can't break Ross's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Ross looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ross is controlling Hurst's posture. Rick Ross is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ross gets a double leg takedown into Hurst's guard. Ross got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hurst has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ross has managed to get both his arms back between Hurst's legs - danger averted. Hurst working for a triangle but Ross defends it easily.
Hurst wants to stand up but Ross is controlling him. Ross controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross wants to control from the top but Hurst keeps moving. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ross turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Hurst is looking for a sweep. Ross is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hurst's shoulder. That is not cool. Ross trying to control the position but Hurst is working away. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hurst is being controlled here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hurst is pushing Ross's head away, looking to escape. Ross manages to hold on to the position though. Roberto Hurst has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ross is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Rick Ross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Ross winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
