Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Nieto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nieto comes to the cage accompanied by Bullet the Blue Sky. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

38 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Marsh! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marsh throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nieto misses with a low kick. Nieto connects with a leg kick. Marsh looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Marsh misses with a straight right. Marsh throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nieto is looking to land body kicks. Nieto misses with a body shot.
Nieto misses with an attempted mid kick.
The crowd cheers as Nieto lands an impressive looking overhand right. Marsh doesn't seem phased though. Nieto is looking to chop away at Marsh's legs. Marsh lands with a thumping leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Nieto looks to land a left hand but Marsh moved out of range nicely. A lazy body kick from Nieto and Marsh counters with an inside leg kick. Nieto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nieto pivots, looking for a leg kick but Marsh is out of range and Nieto settles back down. Nieto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nieto doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Nieto on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marsh swings for the body but Nieto moves out of range.

Nieto throws a head punch that misses. Nieto is working for takedown but Marsh is calmly controlling the position for now. Nieto has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Marsh regains guard immediately. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Nieto won't allow Marsh to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nieto wants to control from the top but Marsh keeps moving. Marsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Marsh is trying to keep Nieto in close.

Marsh is looking to reverse the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Marsh dodges the ground and pound from Nieto. Marsh tries to bench press Nieto off him but Nieto keeps the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alexandre Nieto will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Nieto closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Marsh quickly recovers to half guard. Nieto is stalling here. Marsh is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Nieto seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Marsh has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Marsh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nieto keeps working. Marsh lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Nieto down.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nieto regains half guard. Marsh trying to control the action but Nieto is working from the bottom. Marsh is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Nieto slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Marsh distracts Nieto with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Nieto is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marsh accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kris Marsh has got the better of the ground game so far. Nieto has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Marsh is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Nieto. Marsh scores with a couple of short elbows. Marsh grinds an elbow into Nieto's temple. Marsh wants to control but Nieto is keeping him busy. Nieto tries to buck Marsh off but Marsh is having none of it. Marsh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Marsh with the ground and pound but Nieto uses the opportunity to regain guard. Marsh in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kris Marsh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Marsh's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nieto throws a head kick that misses and Marsh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Marsh throws a quick inside leg kick. Marsh clinches up with Nieto and pushes him back against the cage. Nieto lands on the inside with an uppercut. Marsh tries a body shot but Nieto blocks it.
