Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adrian McMullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Major Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Major is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Iron Man. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adrian McMullen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Major Major!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Major throws a right hand that McMullen ducks under and follows up with a left that McMullen also avoids with ease.
Major Major seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Major fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but McMullen is out of range.
Major throws a head kick that misses.
Major fails with an attempt to clinch.
Major lands with a shot to the body.
Major misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Major pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Major wants to clinch.
Major fails with an attempt to clinch.
Major with a poor takedown

and McMullen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Major keeping moving, preventing McMullen from controlling successfully.
McMullen is looking to work some ground and pound but Major has wrist control.
Major looking for a sweep. Not yet Major, not yet.

McMullen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McMullen trying to control the position from guard on top but Major is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McMullen passes Major's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Major is looking for a sweep. McMullen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Major trying to control but McMullen postures up.
McMullen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McMullen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Major's head.

McMullen seems to be working for a kimura but Major defends the submission attempt.
Major felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Major kicks off McMullen and gets to his feet.

Major looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McMullen is fending him off so far but Major persists. Nope, McMullen circles away and we're back to standing.
McMullen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McMullen wants it to stay on the feet.
Adrian McMullen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Major Major.

Major throws a head kick but McMullen moves out of range.
A bone on bone clash there as McMullen blocks the leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McMullen has his foot on Major's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Major works his way back into a safe position though.
Major wants to control from the top but McMullen keeps moving.
Major postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

McMullen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Major doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Major manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McMullen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

McMullen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Major defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Major not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

McMullen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Major tries to stand but McMullen is controlling from the bottom.
Major postures up and lands a big shot to McMullen's brow.

McMullen has his foot on Major's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Major works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

McMullen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Major can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Major connects with a couple of short punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

McMullen lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Adrian McMullen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McMullen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Major gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McMullen pushes a forearm under Major's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Major is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
