Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chad Nazareth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh McGee! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nazareth has closed the distance and engaged McGee in a clinch.
Nazareth manages to break the clinch.
Nazareth fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McGee, pushing him back against the cage. Nazareth is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. McGee can't fight it off and eventually Nazareth manages to take the fight to the floor. McGee looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Nazareth gets to his feet - McGee follows without any prompting. McGee misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nazareth forces McGee back against the cage and clinches. Nazareth digs a right hand underneath McGee's ribcage. McGee let out a lung full of air as it connected. McGee gets underhooks to prevent Nazareth's takedown attempt.

Chad Nazareth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh McGee. McGee tries to score a body lock takedown but Nazareth shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. McGee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nazareth tries to avoid it but McGee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nazareth to the ground. Nazareth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McGee keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nazareth. McGee tries for a takedown but Nazareth sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. McGee looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGee tries to keep at a distance but Nazareth has taken the fight into the clinch. Nazareth changes levels and goes for a takedown here. McGee fights it off and pushes away nicely.
McGee wants to clinch but Nazareth slips to the side and Nazareth counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. McGee misses with a takedown attempt and Nazareth connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nazareth thows a body shot but no joy. McGee has his takedown stuffed and Nazareth cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nazareth lands a glancing blow to the side of McGee's head. Nazareth takes a swing at McGee's ribcage but misses. McGee takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Nazareth has managed to clinch.

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Well, if Nazareth is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nazareth wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nazareth is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McGee slips a straight right by Nazareth. McGee instigates a clinch. Nazareth pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nazareth throws a hook but McGee blocks it. McGee throws a head kick that misses. Nazareth fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McGee manages to avoid it. Nazareth shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. McGee wants to control but Nazareth is having none of it. McGee is breathing heavily. Nazareth looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGee tries to lock up and control but Nazareth gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. McGee is trying desperately to improve position. Nazareth controlling the position easily from mount. Nazareth landing strikes from the mount and McGee is in trouble!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nazareth putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! McGee can't escape the position.

McGee tries to clinch up and Nazareth counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. McGee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nazareth misses the shot to the body. McGee avoids the body shot from Nazareth.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGee misses with a takedown attempt and Nazareth counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McGee's guard now. Nazareth wanted to stand there but McGee had control of the position. Nazareth is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Nazareth keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McGee's head. McGee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nazareth controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Nazareth wants to control from the top but McGee keeps moving. Nazareth has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Nazareth passes McGee's left leg - he's now in half guard.
