Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Omega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Omega comes to the cage accompanied by Opus A Satana. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Omega! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Travis Meyers! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Topper Green and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meyers misses with a few strikes there.
Meyers has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Omega is landing a low percentage of strikes. Meyers misses with the combination.
Omega circles away from the clinch attempt.
Omega shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meyers sprawls well. Meyers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Omega gets slowly back to his feet. Omega shoots for a double leg takedown but Meyers sprawls well. He's pushed Omega's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Meyers throws the left hand but Omega avoids the punch easily. Meyers missing with a left hand there. Omega was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Meyers misses with a two punch combination.
Omega tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meyers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Omega somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Omega. That's going to take a lot out of him. Omega closes the distance and clinches. Meyers misses with some punches.
Omega takes a shot to the head. Omega escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Omega throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyers throws a hook but Omega avoids it easily. Omega staying out of range there. Omega changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Meyers looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Meyers pushes Omega away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Omega gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Check out the look on Omega's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Meyers takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Omega scores with punches from side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Omega throwing shots but missing, from side control. Omega works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Omega has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Omega misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Meyers is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Omega asserts his dominance and retains side control. Omega trying to control the position but Meyers is working away. Omega working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

He's worked his way up against the cage but Omega has just dragged him back down to the mat. Omega tries for a kimura but Meyers is defending well. Omega working the head and body with strikes. Omega controlling the position from side mount. Meyers parries the strikes from Omega easily there. Omega is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Meyers to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Omega wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meyers keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Omega working the ground and pound. Meyers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Omega. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Omega lands a decent elbow from side control. Omega lands a nice forearm strike. Meyers pushes Omega away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Omega gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Omega working the head with strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Meyers is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Omega is controlling him well. Omega lands some shots froms side control. Omega grinds an elbow into Meyers's temple. Meyers is rocked! Omega takes a little break here. Meyers wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Meyers is still in real trouble! Can Omega finish him? Omega's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Meyers seems to have recovered his senses. Omega landing strikes. Meyers is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Omega has just dragged him back down to the mat. Omega landing strikes. Omega working the head and body with strikes. Omega scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Meyers is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Omega can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
