11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Samuel Berzins! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Duncan Jon! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Berzins moves into range and clinches up with Jon. Jon is looking to break free of the clinch but Berzins has double underhooks. Jon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Berzins lands a right hand.
It looks like Duncan Jon has been cut. Jon lands a body punch. Berzins lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jon backwards. A short left from Berzins. Berzins misses with a punch to the body.
Jon is trying to break the clinch but Berzins is controlling him. Berzins lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Berzins swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jon can't break the clinch.

Berzins takes a shot to the head. Jon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Berzins defending well as Jon loads up on a big left hand. Berzins with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jon to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A swing and a miss from Jon. Berzins seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Jon jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jon rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Berzins counters with a nice uppercut. Berzins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jon.
Berzins moves out of range of the strikes. Berzins misses with a wild combination.

and Berzins counters with a lovely shot to the body. A big left from Jon misses. Jon throws a nice looking combination but Berzins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jon throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Berzins on the side of the head. Berzins showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jon.
Jon looks winded! Berzins scores with the left hand. Jon knows he should have avoided that one. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Berzins throws a right and a left that both miss. Berzins swinging wildly here.

and Berzins counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Decent striking displayed by Berzins there. A slow jab from Jon misses its intended target. Jon throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Berzins counters with a nice right hand that sends Jon toppling to the canvas! Jon scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Berzins finish him?!

That has opened up Duncan Jon's cut even more. Berzins slips a straight right by Jon. Jon is still on wobbly legs! Can Berzins finish him? Berzins misses with a series of wild punches.
Berzins moves into the clinch successfully.
Jon seems to have recovered his senses. Berzins tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jon's elbow. Jon has a couple of punches blocked by Berzins.
A frustrated look appears on Jon's face as he tries to break the clinch. Jon tries to work over Berzins's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A hook to the body from Berzins.
Berzins is working Jon over against the cage. Berzins makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Berzins scores with a shot to the side of Jon's head. Berzins scores with a nice hook to the head. Jon being controlled against the cage. Berzins lands a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berzins lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jon backwards. Jon has a couple of punches blocked by Berzins.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Berzins. Berzins is struggling to control the position. Jon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Berzins throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Jons head. A head punch on the inside from Jon fails to land. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Berzins. Berzins lands an uppercut. Jon's coach down at Shitty Training Facility (Product Recall) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jon's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Berzins lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jon backwards. Berzins throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Jons head. Berzins lands a big right hand that drops Jon! The killer instinct kicks in and Berzins finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Berzins!
