The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaggerjacks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Souza counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Souza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jaggerjacks swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jaggerjacks looks to score with a jab to the body but Souza is just out of range.
Souza misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Souza tries for a takedown but Jaggerjacks sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Souza drives through with a takedown into Jaggerjacks's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Souza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Souza looking to control but Jaggerjacks is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Souza is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Jaggerjacks wants to get up but he can't break Souza's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Souza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jaggerjacks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Souza has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jaggerjacks should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Souza has tightened it up now! Jaggerjacks should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
