Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rupert Psmith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rupert Psmith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Strange!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Psmith on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Strange just misses with a punch to the body.
Psmith looks for the body kick but Strange saw that one coming.
Psmith pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Strange jabs at Psmith's body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Strange.
Strange checks a low kick from Psmith.
Strange checks a low kick from Psmith.
Strange avoids the body shot from Psmith.
Psmith attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
We've been told by Psmith's head coaches at Slaughterhouse MMA (Redesigned) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rupert Psmith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Strange lunges at Psmith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Psmith's hand.
Strange scores with a jab to the jaw.
A looping hook to the body misses from Strange. Psmith does a little dance to reset his feet.
Strange throws a jab but it's blocked by Psmith.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Psmith wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Psmith thows a leg kick but Strange checks it

and Strange counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Strange is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Psmith defends it well.
Psmith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Strange on the ground.
Psmith wants to get back to full guard.
Psmith is in trouble now - Strange has advanced to mount!
Strange landing strikes from the mount and Psmith is in trouble!
Strange has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Psmith wants to hold on but Strange pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Strange tries to control but Psmith wriggling away.
Psmith tries to reverse the position but Strange maintains control.
Strange is landing with some decent strikes but Psmith is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Strange lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Strange loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Psmith scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Strange land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Strange stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon Strange!
Simon Strange took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'After a long time soul searching, I now know who I am. Its time'.
