Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Spezza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smolder Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoner has chosen Blister in the Sun-violent femmes as his entrance music. The key to victory for Jason Spezza has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Spezza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Smolder Stoner!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoner is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stoner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Stoner blocks a head kick by Spezza.
Stoner moves out of range as Spezza throws a body kick.
Spezza fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Stoner checks it well.
Spezza misses with a straight right.
Stoner tries to clinch but Spezza moves out of range.
Jason Spezza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stoner clinches.
Stoner fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Stoner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spezza lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Good standup being displayed there by Spezza as he connects with a hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spezza scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Stoner doesn't seem bothered though.
Stoner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Spezza throws a big shot that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spezza misses with a two punch combination.
That kick from Spezza tenderised Stoner's leg. Stoner is trying to keep his angry face on.
Spezza misses with a right hand

and Stoner holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Spezza lands a body shot.
Stoner prevents a body shot from Spezza.
Spezza has a couple of punches blocked by Stoner.
Stoner keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Spezza's efforts to push away.
Spezza tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Stoner blocks a body shot from Spezza.
Stoner fails to pull guard.
Stoner's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Spezza lands a left hand that snaps the head of Stoner backwards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stoner is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Spezza is defending well.
Jason Spezza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Smolder Stoner.
Stoner is working for takedown but Spezza is calmly controlling the position for now.
Spezza just leaning against Stoner, taking a breather.
Stoner is looking for a takedown.
Spezza lands an uppercut.
Stoner is looking for a takedown.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stoner is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Stoner avoids a wild elbow strike from Spezza.

Spezza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Spezza misses with a few strikes there.
Spezza misses the shot to the body.
Spezza lands with a hook. Stoner tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
We've been told by Spezza's head coaches at Nights Watch MMA Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Spezza thows a body shot but no joy.
A slapping body kick lands there for Spezza.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stoner slips a straight right by Spezza.
Stoner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spezza tries to avoid it but Stoner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spezza to the ground. Spezza escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Spezza lands a slapping body shot.
Stoner ducks under a wild hook from Spezza.
Spezza connects with a nice looking jab.
Stoner throws a right and a left that both miss.
Spezza connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


Stoner is rocked!
Spezza lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Stoner is still on wobbly legs! Can Spezza finish him?
Stoner looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spezza cracks a nice hook into Stoner's ribs.
Stoner doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Stoner walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Spezza! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
