PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Colbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nino Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaze has chosen Pendulum - Slam as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cain Colbert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nino Blaze!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaze swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Blaze jabs at Colbert's body.
Blaze tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Colbert misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Blaze.
A big left from Colbert misses.
Blaze displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Colbert throws out the jab.
Blaze scores with a decent looking hook.
Blaze thows a body shot but no joy.
Colbert checks a low kick from Blaze.
Blaze wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Colbert throws out a loose jab but Blaze uses good head movement to avoid it.
Colbert throws a jab but it's blocked by Blaze.
Blaze buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Colbert looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Blaze throws a chopping leg kick but Colbert manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Colbert's jab looks to have found its range, popping Blaze under the eye.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blaze tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Good leg kick by Blaze there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Colbert bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Colbert on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Blaze lands a nice looking kick to the body. Colbert takes a step back to recover.
Blaze swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Colbert.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Blaze throws a nice inside leg kick.
Colbert is breathing heavily.
Blaze tries to clinch up.
Blaze throws out a loose jab but Colbert uses good head movement to avoid it.
Blaze lands with a kick to the temple. Colbert shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Colbert throws a low kick, looking for Blaze's leg but Blaze calmly moves out of range.
Colbert throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Blaze throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blaze digs a good hook to Colbert's body.
Colbert misses with a low kick.
Colbert walks into a straight right hand from Blaze.
Blaze lands a body shot.
Blaze looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A good leg kick by Blaze.
Blaze is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Colbert rather than just go for the knockout.
Blaze is looking to slow Colbert down with leg kicks.
Blaze connects with a body shot that sends Colbert's belly button to the back.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Blaze.

Blaze rushes Colbert and presses him up against the cage.
Blaze lands with a left to the head.
Blaze lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Colbert.
Blaze slows down the pace here.
Blaze trying to stall but Colbert improves his position.

Colbert misses with an elbow over the top.
Colbert can't break the clinch.
Blaze's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Blaze has Colbert pressed against the cage, preventing Colbert from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Blaze slowing the pace effectively.
Colbert tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Blaze avoids it.
A right hook to the body lands for Blaze.
Blaze throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Colberts head.
Blaze tries a body shot but Colbert blocks it.
Blaze pushes Colbert back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Blaze.
Blaze can't find room to land a body shot as Colbert controls the action.
Blaze goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Colbert misses with some punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Blaze is leaning against Colbert and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Blaze struggles to land a body shot inside as Colbert controls his hands.
Blaze looking to stall.
A nice left hand lands by Blaze.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Colbert looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Blaze is struggling to control the position.
Colbert is trying to force a seperation but Blaze has the dominant position.
Blaze swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Colbert is trying to break the clinch but Blaze is controlling him.

Colbert breaks from the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Good shot there by Blaze.
Colbert misses with a body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
A shot to the liver by Blaze. Beautiful body shot.
Blaze lands with a good body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nino Blaze dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Blaze fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Colbert avoids the head kick by Blaze.
Blaze takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Nino Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blaze jabs Colbert to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Nice jab there from Blaze.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blaze scores with a hook to the body. Colbert takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Blaze thumps Colbert with a low kick.
Blaze lunges at Colbert with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Colbert's hand.
Blaze buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Blaze drops Colbert with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Colbert looks back up at him and smiles so Blaze waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Colbert is rocked!
Blaze lands a leg kick that knocks Colbert off balance momentarily.
Oh Colbert is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blaze circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Colbert tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Blaze wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nino Blaze!
In his post fight interview, Nino Blaze started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
