Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Green Pillow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green Pillow is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerry Stuart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Green Pillow!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Topper Green and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pillow shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pillow showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Still in half guard, Pillow seems content to control.
Stuart tries to roll over but Pillow keeps him under control.
Pillow sitting and controlling from the half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Green Pillow hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Pillow closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pillow lands in his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stuart manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Pillow looks winded!

Pillow feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Pillow throws a big right hand that misses.
Pillow won't allow Stuart to sweep him here.
Stuart preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Pillow throwing strikes but missing.
Pillow looking to sit in guard and control but Stuart gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Stuart wants to stand but Pillow has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Pillow keeping moving, preventing Stuart from controlling successfully.
Stuart will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pillow pushes Stuart off and gets back to his feet.

Pillow shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stuart wants to sweep but no luck.
Pillow sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stuart's guard.
Stuart is trying to get back to full guard.
Pillow content to control rather than advance.
Stuart is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pillow slips a nice elbow through Stuart's hands, connecting with Stuart's forehead.
The fighters are battling for position here. Stuart manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Pillow slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pillow landing some decent shots from guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pillow engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Green Pillow dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pillow tries to clinch but Stuart moves out of range.
Stuart circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pillow closes the distance but Stuart moves to the side

and Stuart counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Stuart utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.

Stuart breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pillow is breathing heavily.
Pillow tries to clinch but Stuart is having none of it.
Stuart fails to land the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stuart gets caught flat footed, as Pillow shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pillow looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Stuart keeping full guard, as Pillow tries to pass.
Stuart wants to stand and escape but Pillow is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pillow wants to control from the top but Stuart keeps moving.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pillow is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Green Pillow has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Pillow changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stuart looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pillow misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Stuart avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Pillow.
Stuart tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You can see the frustration on Stuart's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Pillow trying to control the position but Stuart is working away.
The strikes coming from Pillow are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Pillow staying calm.
Stuart is trying to buck Pillow off.
Stuart knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pillow on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pillow tries to move to mount but Stuart blocks the move with his legs.
Stuart is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pillow asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Stuart is looking to regain half guard here but Pillow keeps moving and retains side control.

Pillow decides to stand up, so the ref orders Stuart to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No joy there for Pillow, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Green Pillow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Pillow tries to clinch there but Stuart circles away.
Stuart tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pillow swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stuart fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Pillow fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stuart to the ground. Pillow is now in Stuart's guard.
Pillow looking to sit in guard and control but Stuart gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Stuart controlling from the top position.
Pillow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Pillow wants to stand but Stuart is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stuart trying to control but Pillow is working from the bottom.
Pillow is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Stuart dives into side control.
Stuart wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pillow keeps working.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Pillow. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pillow takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pillow can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stuart taking a breather here.
Stuart misses with the ground and pound.
Stuart wants to control but Pillow is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Stuart looking to control but instead Pillow has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Stuart scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Green Pillow is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Pillow wants to get back to his feet.
Stuart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pillow wants to get back to his feet.
Stuart is looking to take a break and control but Pillow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jerry Stuart wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Stuart is looking to clinch but Pillow is avoiding it.
Stuart moves into range and connects with a jab.
Pillow avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jerry Stuart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stuart tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pillow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jerry Stuart showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Pillow has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Green Pillow rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
