Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Keiji Mutou!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to land a front kick but Mutou steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Mutou has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jackson is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Mutou fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Mutou persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mutou wants to pass the guard but Jackson is defending well.
Mutou wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy.

Mutou takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mutou connects with a nice short shot to Jackson's temple.

Mutou has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jackson is looking to regain half guard here but Mutou keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jackson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mutou in side control lands a decent elbow.

Check out the look on Mutou's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Mutou scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jackson to see if he's OK.

Mutou cracks Jackson with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Mutou immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Jackson is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Mutou!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Keiji Mutou!
Keiji Mutou very nearly forgot to thank Meet the Future amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
