Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kaz Yago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vasilko Nikolaevich!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolaevich is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Yago.
Yago throws a series of punches but Nikolaevich moves out of range.
Yago misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yago has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Synergy Fight Team in the buildup to the fight.
Yago takes a kick to the side of the head.
Kaz Yago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yago wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Yago keeps the fight on the outside.
Yago throws a poor cross that misses

and Nikolaevich counters by clinching up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nikolaevich has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Yago uses from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Yago trying to control but Nikolaevich is working from the bottom.
Yago tries to free his leg and advance position but Nikolaevich is retaining full guard.
Yago slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Yago is working to tighten his grip on Nikolaevich's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Nikolaevich has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Yago is really squeezing tight and eventually Nikolaevich passes out! Yago breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Kaz Yago!
