Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dag Kreuger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Schroeder!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kreuger on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Schroeder. Schroeder obviously looking to wear him down.
Schroeder missing with a left hand there. Kreuger was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kreuger needs to keep his hands up - Schroeder had a free shot at his head there.
Kreuger with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Schroeder to score with a decent uppercut.


It looks like Dag Kreuger has been cut.
Schroeder tests Kreuger's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Schroeder will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

I was talking to Kreuger's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kreuger tries to break the clinch but Schroeder is controlling the position.
Schroeder gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kreuger.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Brian Schroeder.

Kreuger scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kreuger shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schroeder as he avoids it easily.

Brian Schroeder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Schroeder thows a body shot but no joy.
Kreuger takes one to the chin there.
Schroeder scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kreuger doesn't seem bothered though.

Schroeder stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schroeder wants it to stay on the feet.
Schroeder tries to bum rush Kreuger with a series of wild strikes but Kreuger uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Schroeder tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kreuger was well out of range. Poor timing from Schroeder.
Kreuger tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Schroeder defends well and Kreuger ends up having to push Schroeder into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kreuger shoots in but no luck this time.
Schroeder has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Schroeder lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Schroeder.
Schroeder scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Kreuger. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Kreuger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schroeder swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kreuger looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Schroeder scores with a jab. Kreuger acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schroeder misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kreuger.
Schroeder lands a nice hook to Kreuger's body. Kreuger takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kreuger tries for a takedown but Schroeder sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Schroeder lands a lovely overhand right.
Schroeder has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Schroeder fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Kreuger to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Kreuger looks to clinch but Schroeder throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Kreuger taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Brian Schroeder!
After winning the bout, Brian Schroeder thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Dag Kreuger spoke after the fight, saying 'He just happened to be the better man tonight, I won't make excuses. He beat me, hands down. I'll be back. '.
