Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mahir Han! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Masters! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masters scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Han wants to get back to his feet. Masters content to control rather than advance. Han won't allow Masters to pass to mount. Masters controlling the pace. Masters wants to pass to mount but Han is defending the position. Masters prevents Han from standing back up.
Han is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Extreme MMA (5 Elites $250/week) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Masters looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Mahir Han has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Masters. Masters closes the distance and clinches up with Han, looking for a takedown. Masters pushes Han against the cage but Han circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Masters looks winded! This has been an exciting period of action! Masters shoots in for a takedown. Masters misses with a takedown attempt and Han connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Han keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Han stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Han wants it to stay on the feet. Masters fails in his attempt to clinch. Mahir Han is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Han escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Masters tries for a takedown but Han circles away easily and Han counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Han defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Masters. Horrible takedown by Masters or perhaps it was just good defense by Han which made him look bad. Masters dives in and grabs Han's left leg, looking for a takedown. Han pushes down on Masters's head and hops out. Masters shoots in looking for a takedown. Han tries to sprawl out of it but Masters keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Han manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Masters fails to land the takedown. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Masters fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Han avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Han is trying to push Masters away but Masters has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Han is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Han breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mahir Han will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
