The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick lands from McCoy that sends Taison to the canvas. Taison tries to scramble back to his feet but McCoy brings him back down into side control.
It looks like Mike Taison has been cut.
Taison is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McCoy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taison. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Taison manages to get back to half guard.
Taison slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
McCoy wants to pass the guard but Taison is keeping the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Taison manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taison is looking for a sweep. McCoy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Taison moves into full guard.
Taison has a closed guard, preventing McCoy from standing up.
McCoy lands a couple of digs.
McCoy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
McCoy trying to control the position from guard on top but Taison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McCoy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
McCoy trying to control but Taison is working from the bottom.

Taison had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McCoy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Taison Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McCoy's back instead.
Taison is breathing heavily.
McCoy tries to roll but Taison sticks to his back.
Taison is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
McCoy is trying to get to his feet but he's left his neck exposed and Taison manages to sink in a rear naked choke! Great counter grappling by Taison!
