Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Ringo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Ringo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Ringo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ringo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ringo showed some decent athleticism there.
Ringo throwing shots but Reed is blocking nicely.
Ringo looks to land a strike but Reed avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Ringo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Reed looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ringo lands a couple of digs.
Reed tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ringo is looking to work some ground and pound but Reed has wrist control.
Reed pulls Ringo in close to his closed guard and prevents Ringo from doing any damage or advancing position.
Reed controls Ringo momentarily but Ringo frees himself.

Reed drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reed jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ringo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Reed drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reed jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Reed lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ringo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reed drops back looking for a leg! Ringo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ringo manages to kick Reed off! Reed jumps back into Ringo's guard.
Ringo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reed is controlling him.

Reed postures up.
Ringo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Reed is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Reed loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ringo wants to sweep but no luck.

Ringo wants to stand and escape but Reed is having none of it.
Reed is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Ringo is looking to stand back up but Reed counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ringo.

Reed is working for a submission of some sort.
Ringo is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Reed looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Ringo is trying to escape the mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ringo defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Reed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Reed dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ringo misses with an attempted mid kick.

Reed closes the distance and clinches.

Ringo has picked Reed up - he's going for a ride! Ringo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Reed is not content to let Ringo control the position.
Reed trying to hold on to Ringo's head to control him but Ringo postures up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ringo connects with a nice short shot to Reed's temple.
Ringo is nestled in close to Reed, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ringo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Reed with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reed gets back to full guard.
Reed manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reed is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ringo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ringo shrugs it off.
Reed is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ringo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Reed with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Reed scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Ringo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ringo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Reed jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ringo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ringo and Reed has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ringo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Reed is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ringo has escaped the position, nice work there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ringo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Reed misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Ryan Reed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ringo tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Reed presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Reed is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ringo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Reed is working for a guillotine from mount but Ringo frees his head quite easily.
Ringo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Ringo is sitting in close to Reed's body. Reed has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ringo is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ringo is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Reed.
