The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okamoto throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Takayanagi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Okamoto sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

We've been hearing reports that Okamoto has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Takayanagi bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Okamoto's head backwards.

Okamoto tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Okamoto misses with a hook from the clinch.
Okamoto is trying to maintain a safe position but Takayanagi gets an underhook and turns Okamoto into the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Takayanagi.
Okamoto wants to get back to striking at distance but Takayanagi won't allow it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Takayanagi jumps into guard, dragging Okamoto to the mat.
Takayanagi trying to keep a closed guard but Okamoto is proving a slippery customer.
Takayanagi has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Okamoto doesn't defend quickly enough and Takayanagi has managed to lock this one up! Can Okamoto escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Takayanagi on a fantastic submission victory.
