Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aron Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Captain Caveman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caveman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Captain Caveman Intro kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aron Chan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Captain Caveman! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick lands from Caveman. Chan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Caveman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Chan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Caveman misses with a leg kick and Chan counters with a three punch combo that has Caveman backing up. Caveman nods at Chan to acknowledge the strikes. Caveman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Chan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Caveman swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aron Chan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Caveman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chan tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Caveman throws a head kick that misses. Chan takes the fight into the clinch. Chan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Caveman is looking to land body kicks. Chan tries to close the distance and clinch but Caveman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Captain Caveman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Chan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Caveman can pounce on him.
Caveman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chan manages to avoid it. Chan has a takedown stuffed. Nice defenses there by Chan. Chan fails to land with a series of punches.

Chan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Caveman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Chan controls the position. Chan stands up and we're back to a striking position. Chan dives in for a single leg takedown but Caveman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Chan is trying to trip Caveman. He has hold of a leg but Caveman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Chan persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Chan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Caveman has his hands on Chan's head, controlling the position. Caveman is trying to keep Chan in close.
Caveman is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Chan presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Caveman breaks from the clinch.

Captain Caveman has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Chan darts in looking for a takedown but Caveman gets double underhooks and turns Chan into the cage. Chan walks into a left hand. Chan clinches. Chan misses with the head strike.
Chan is trying to break free. Chan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Chan jumps guard and drags Caveman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Chan controls Caveman momentarily but Caveman frees himself. Chan looking for a sweep. Not yet Chan, not yet. Caveman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Caveman tries to stand but Chan is controlling from the bottom.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Caveman wants to control from the top but Chan keeps moving. My spies in Weed Nation inform me that Caveman has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Captain Caveman wasn't active enough on the ground. Caveman feints and then cracks Chan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Chan down. Caveman cracks the inside of Chan's front leg. Caveman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Chan's sensitive parts. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Caveman lands with a thumping leg kick.

Chan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Horrible takedown by Chan or perhaps it was just good defense by Caveman which made him look bad. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Caveman lands a jab. A kick lands to the mid section there for Caveman. Caveman throws a head kick but Chan moves out of range.
Chan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Caveman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Chan takes a shot to the body in his stride.

A close third round but Captain Caveman just about did enough to take it. That's time! Chan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Chan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Caveman moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A slapping leg kick lands for Caveman.
Caveman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Chan closes the distance but Caveman moves to the side enabling Caveman to counter with a crisp jab. Caveman works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Chan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Caveman but Caveman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caveman jabs Chan right on the nose. Chan blinks but takes it well. Jab from Caveman. Chan tries to clinch up but Caveman circles away and keeps his distance. Chan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Caveman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Chan wants to control but Caveman is keeping him busy. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chan in particular looking to stall. Caveman has his hands clasped together around Chan's back. He's all about the action.
