Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Munchack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munchack comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tupac - Ambitionz Az A Ridah kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Franklin Munchack told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklin Munchack! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab from Steel. Munchack defending well as Steel loads up on a big left hand. Steel lands a glancing blow to the side of Munchack's head.
It looks like Franklin Munchack has been cut. Munchack throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Munchack slips under a jab. Munchack throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Freddy Steel has been cut. Munchack throws a half hearted mid kick. Steel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Steel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Munchack moves away. Steel missing with a left hand there. Munchack was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Munchack shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Steel as he jumps to the side. Steel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Munchack looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Freddy Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Munchack. Munchack misses with an attempted mid kick.
Steel throws a hook but Munchack avoids it easily. Steel lands a nice leg kick that just misses Munchack's sensitive parts. Steel waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Munchack. Munchack ducks under a wild hook from Steel. Munchack closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steel circles away. Steel takes the fight into the clinch. Munchack jumps guard but Steel stands there with Munchack around his waist. Munchack gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Freddy Steel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice uppercut lands for Steel. That snapped Munchack's head back.
Steel has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Munchack looks to land a left hand but Steel moved out of range nicely. Steel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Munchack. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Steel loads up on a big right hand but Munchack slips the punch. Steel connects with a jab. Steel paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Steel is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Steel connects with the punch. Steel changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Munchack drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel connects with an inside leg kick. Steel connects with an inside leg kick. Munchack looks winded! Steel scores with the left hand. Munchack knows he should have avoided that one. Steel is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Steel gets in close and instigates a clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice body punch from Steel. Steel lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Munchack is trying desperately to land a takedown but Steel is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Munchack. Steel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Munchack with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Steel to score with a decent uppercut. Steel finds Munchack's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Munchack flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Steel lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Munchack will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Freddy Steel! In his post fight interview, Freddy Steel started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
