Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoshiro Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingsley Ciprut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Kingsley Ciprut!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Gomi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've been hearing reports that Gomi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Yoshiro Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round but I would say that Yoshiro Gomi will probably get the nod.

Ciprut is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Gomi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gomi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gomi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Yoshiro Gomi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gomi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
