Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ivey might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Friday. Graves has chosen Alvarez as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Ivey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Doug Graves!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graves moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ivey blocks a jab.
Graves tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ivey is able to avoid easily.
Ivey throws a leg kick
and Graves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Graves motions for Ivey to come forward. Graves throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ivey cracks a nice hook into Graves's ribs.
A swing and a miss from Graves.
Graves rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

so Ivey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ivey makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Graves looking for a sweep. Not yet Graves, not yet.
Graves working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ivey.
Ivey trying to move into half guard but instead Graves has managed to sweep!
Ivey looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ivey bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Graves's guard.

Ivey wants to pass the guard but Graves is keeping the position.
Ivey advances to half guard.
Graves moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Ivey wants to pass the guard but Graves is keeping the position.
Ivey trying to control but Graves is working from the bottom.
Graves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ivey controls the pace.

Ivey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Graves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Graves keeping moving, preventing Ivey from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ivey in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Phil Ivey has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ivey throws a leg kick but Graves sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Ivey fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Graves looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A telegraphed right hand from Graves misses the target.
Graves misses with a low kick.
Graves avoids the body shot from Ivey.
Ivey seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Ivey lands with a nice body kick.
Ivey blocks the body kick.
Graves thuds his right hand into Ivey's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Graves ducks under a wild hook from Ivey.
Ivey misses with a head kick.
Graves walks into a jab.


It looks like Doug Graves has been cut.
The crowd cheers as Graves lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ivey doesn't seem phased though.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ivey throws a body punch but Graves moves out of range.

Ivey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Graves manages to avoid it.

Graves lands a nice looking body shot.

Ivey misses with a head kick.
Graves blocks a head kick by Ivey.
Graves throws a looping overhand right but Ivey ducks down to avoid it.
Ivey lands a nice looking kick to the body. Graves takes a step back to recover.
Ivey ducks under a wild hook from Graves.
Graves throws a quick inside leg kick.
Graves lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Ivey blocks a jab.
Graves feints and then cracks Ivey's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ivey down.
Graves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Graves misses with a straight right.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Phil Ivey will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Doug Graves's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Graves throws a jab when Ivey was well out of range.
Graves avoids a kick to the body.
Graves looks to throw the jab but Ivey is out of range.
Ivey takes a swing at Graves's ribcage but misses.
Ivey uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Graves.
Ivey takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ivey throws a looping overhand right but Graves ducks down to avoid it.
Ivey lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Graves misses with a wild combination.
Graves throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ivey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Graves manages to avoid it.
Ivey lunges at Graves with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Graves's hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Ivey takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Graves takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ivey connects with a body shot.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ivey.
Graves throws a body punch but Ivey moves out of range.
Graves checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A slow jab from Graves misses its intended target.
A cross from Graves lands.
Ivey scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ivey is looking to wear down Graves with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Ivey takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Doug Graves seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Graves tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ivey swings for the body but Graves moves out of range.
Graves jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd cheers as Graves lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ivey doesn't seem phased though.
Ivey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Graves moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ivey gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Graves gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Ivey is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Doug Graves!
