Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jayden Rolin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gorilla Grapplin! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rolin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Grapplin has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Jayden Rolin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice uppercut lands for Rolin. That snapped Grapplin's head back.
Rolin just misses with a punch to the body.
Grapplin avoids the body shot from Rolin.
Grapplin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Grapplin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Grapplin trying to control the position but Rolin is working away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rolin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Rolin tries to roll over but Grapplin keeps him under control. Grapplin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rolin sees it coming and defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rolin trying to control from the bottom.
Grapplin trying to control the action but Rolin is working from the bottom. Rolin tries to roll over but Grapplin keeps him under control. Rolin is trying to stand back up but Grapplin is controlling him
Grapplin wants to free his trapped foot but Rolin is holding on for dear life with his legs. Still in half guard, Grapplin seems content to control. Grapplin passes to full mount! Rolin is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grapplin working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rolin turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Grapplin off and cradles Rolin's limp body as Grapplin celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Gorilla Grapplin!
