The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Villarreal is defended easily by Country . Country tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The fight stays on the outside here - Country looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Country tries to score with a low kick but Villarreal moves his leg out of the way. Villarreal scores with a takedown into Country 's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Country is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Villarreal could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Country has Villarreal pulled in close to control his posture. Country wants to sweep here but Villarreal controlling him for the moment. Country really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Villarreal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Villarreal in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Country isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Villarreal stacks Country on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Villarreal! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Country striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Villarreal in side control, throwing shots but Country defends. Country wants to get back to his feet. Country tries to buck Villarreal off but Villarreal is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Villarreal. Country takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Country on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Villarreal slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Villarreal has the hooks in. Country is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Country trying to control the position from guard on top but Villarreal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Villarreal manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Country manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Villarreal is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Country wants to sweep here but Villarreal controlling him for the moment. Country is looking to stand back up but Villarreal counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Country . Country is looking to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ground and pound from Villarreal. Villarreal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Country keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Country gets a double leg takedown into Villarreal's guard. Country got a little sloppy there for a moment and Villarreal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Country has managed to get both his arms back between Villarreal's legs - danger averted. Villarreal is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Big Country . Country closes the distance and pushes Villarreal back into the cage. Villarreal gets a trip takedown into half guard. Villarreal seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Country moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Country trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Villarreal drops back, looking for a kneebar! Country looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Country looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Country ! Chauncey Villarreal overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Villarreal tries to improve position but can't. Country tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Villarreal isn't going anywhere. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Country is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Villarreal knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Country tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Country working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Country trying to control the action but Villarreal is working from the bottom. Villarreal manages to get back to half guard. Villarreal makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Country misses with a body kick. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Country ! Villarreal is out on his feet! Country rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Villarreal is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Villarreal is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
