Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trenton Wilkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trane Burner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trenton Wilkinson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Trenton Wilkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trane Burner!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burner looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Wilkinson!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Burner stands up and beckons Wilkinson to his feet.

Burner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Burner pushes down on Wilkinson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Wilkinson wants to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Burner seems content to control.
Wilkinson wants to get back to his feet.
Burner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wilkinson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Burner decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Burner lands with a good body shot.

Burner swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Burner throws a head kick but Wilkinson moves out of range.

Burner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wilkinson, pushing him back against the cage.

Burner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Burner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Wilkinson stands up from Burner's guard - Wilkinson perhaps looking for a knockout.

Burner rushes Wilkinson and presses him up against the cage.
Burner has had enough of the clinch but Wilkinson keeps him there for the moment.

Wilkinson drags the fight down to the ground.
Wilkinson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Burner throws a strike but Wilkinson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wilkinson cracks Burner with a solid left hand.
Burner is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Wilkinson postures up.
Wilkinson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Wilkinson postures up in Burner's guard and throws a big left but Burner blocks it.
Wilkinson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wilkinson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Burner is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Wilkinson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Wilkinson tries for a takedown but Burner manages to get underhooks.

Wilkinson pulls guard.
Wilkinson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Burner is controlling him.
Burner wants to control from the top but Wilkinson keeps moving.
Burner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wilkinson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wilkinson wants to sweep but no luck.
Wilkinson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Burner gets to his feet. Wilkinson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Burner stuffs the takedown attempt from Wilkinson. Wilkinson gets slowly back to his feet.

Burner passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Burner misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Wilkinson prevents Burner from moving into mount.
Burner creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wilkinson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Burner throws a strike aimed at the side of Wilkinson's head but Wilkinson avoids it well.
Wilkinson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are battling for position here. Burner manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wilkinson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Wilkinson moves out of range of the body kick from Burner.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wilkinson enables Burner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wilkinson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wilkinson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wilkinson wants to get back to his feet but Burner is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Burner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Wilkinson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

We're going to have a standup here because Trenton Wilkinson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Burner wants the takedown. Wilkinson is fighting it off but Burner persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wilkinson's guard against the cage.

Burner is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wilkinson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wilkinson has escaped and now he's on top!

Wilkinson wants to sweep here but Burner controlling him for the moment.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Burner holds on and takes a little breather.

Wilkinson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Burner moves into the clinch.

Burner is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wilkinson can't fight it off and eventually Burner manages to take the fight to the floor. Wilkinson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trenton Wilkinson.
Well Burner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
