Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Praven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Praven comes to the cage accompanied by Animals MG. Reggie Praven has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Reggie Praven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Praven sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat.
Diaz moves out of range as Praven strikes.
Praven's jab looks to have found its range, popping Diaz under the eye.
Diaz walks into a left hand.
Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Praven moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nice cross by Praven.


Diaz is rocked!
Diaz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Praven thows a left - swing and a miss!
Diaz is still on wobbly legs! Can Praven finish him?
Praven swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Diaz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Praven.
Diaz tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Praven is able to avoid easily.
Praven dodges the punch combination from Diaz.
Diaz seems to have recovered his senses.
Diaz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Praven.
Praven lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Praven really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diaz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Praven was covering up waiting for the punch and Diaz finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Diaz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Praven's guard.
Diaz wants to control but Praven is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Diaz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Diaz content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz moves nicely into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Praven is trying to improve his position.
Diaz advances to full mount.
Diaz in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Praven knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Diaz lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diaz lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Diaz looking to control but Praven is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Diaz is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Diaz extends the arm and Praven is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nick Diaz!
Reggie Praven was interviewed post fight and said 'Sorry I'll train hard and do better next time!'.
