Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Craig Holcomb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Kilpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilpatrick is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nightcall. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Kilpatrick!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilpatrick swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Holcomb connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kilpatrick avoids the head kick by Holcomb.

Kilpatrick closes the distance and clinches.

Kilpatrick decides to pull guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Holcomb trying to control but Kilpatrick is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Craig Holcomb wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Holcomb is trying to pull guard but Kilpatrick turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Kilpatrick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Holcomb digs a good body shot into Kilpatrick's ribs.
Kilpatrick fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Adam Kilpatrick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Holcomb instigates a clinch.

Kilpatrick wants the takedown. Holcomb is fighting it off but Kilpatrick persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Holcomb's guard against the cage.
Holcomb could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kilpatrick has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Holcomb uses from the top position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kilpatrick is on top in guard.

Kilpatrick remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Kilpatrick is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Holcomb is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Holcomb wants to control but Kilpatrick postures up.

Holcomb is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Holcomb tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Holcomb takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kilpatrick tries to advance to mount but can't.
Holcomb can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Adam Kilpatrick will probably get the nod.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Kilpatrick is working for takedown but Holcomb is calmly controlling the position for now.
Holcomb goes for a takedown attempt but Kilpatrick pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Kilpatrick moves into the clinch successfully.

Kilpatrick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kilpatrick throws a series of punches but Holcomb moves out of range.

Kilpatrick has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kilpatrick is controlling Holcomb's posture.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kilpatrick. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Holcomb tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kilpatrick is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Holcomb is trying to drag Kilpatrick to the mat but Kilpatrick just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Kilpatrick is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Holcomb can't fight it off and eventually Kilpatrick manages to take the fight to the floor. Holcomb looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Adam Kilpatrick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

A looping hook to the body misses from Holcomb. Kilpatrick does a little dance to reset his feet.
Adam Kilpatrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kilpatrick throws a right and a left that Holcomb avoids nicely.
Holcomb tries to clinch but Kilpatrick is having none of it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kilpatrick is trying to maintain a safe position but Holcomb gets an underhook and turns Kilpatrick into the cage.
Holcomb tries to pull guard but Kilpatrick holds him up against the cage and eventually Holcomb drops back down to his feet.
Holcomb drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kilpatrick pulls his leg out and moves away.

Kilpatrick takes the fight into the clinch.
Kilpatrick throws a knee to the head but misses.

Kilpatrick works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Kilpatrick is in close to Holcomb's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Holcomb can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kilpatrick controls the pace.
Holcomb seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Holcomb manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kilpatrick manages to get himself to full guard.
Holcomb wants to control from the top but Kilpatrick keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Craig Holcomb.
No luck for Holcomb with that takedown attempt.

Kilpatrick moves into range and clinches up with Holcomb.

Kilpatrick turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kilpatrick manages to end up in side control.
Holcomb can't do much from the bottom here.
Kilpatrick in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Holcomb is not content to let Kilpatrick control the position.

Kilpatrick tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kilpatrick has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Holcomb bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

I've got Kilpatrick winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
