Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmer Octopulus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aigars Senko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Senko comes into a darkened arena with his song building. will.i.am T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmer Octopulus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aigars Senko!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Senko feints and then cracks Octopulus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Octopulus down.
Octopulus misses the jab.
Senko moves to clinch but Octopulus breaks away
and Octopulus counters with a right hand to the body.
Octopulus defending well as Senko loads up on a big left hand.
A head kick misses from Octopulus.
Octopulus takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Nice shot lands for Senko.
Octopulus tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Octopulus takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Senko moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

We've been hearing reports that Octopulus has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Senko misses with a straight right.

Octopulus avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Senko looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Octopulus closes the distance and clinches up with Senko, looking for a takedown. Octopulus pushes Senko against the ropes but Senko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Octopulus counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Octopulus.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Senko is looking to stand up but Octopulus isn't so interested in that idea.

Octopulus advances position into side control!
Senko pushes Octopulus away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Octopulus gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Octopulus tries to advance to mount but Senko denies him.
Octopulus is looking to take a break and control but Senko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Senko wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Octopulus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Senko keeps working.

Octopulus wants to control but Senko is keeping him busy.

Octopulus looks to throw the jab but Senko is out of range.
Octopulus does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Senko looks to land a combination but Octopulus avoids it well.
Aigars Senko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Senko throws a sloppy head kick and Octopulus moves out of range easily.
Senko lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Aigars Senko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Senko feints a jab promting Octopulus to slip. Senko then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Octopulus slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Octopulus throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Senko tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Octopulus is in Senko's guard.

Octopulus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Octopulus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Octopulus prevents Senko from getting back to his feet.
Octopulus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Senko has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the ropes to get back to his feet. Octopulus has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the ropes.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Octopulus creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Octopulus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Senko blocks a low kick nicely.
Senko's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Senko throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Octopulus lunges at Senko with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Senko's hand.
Senko walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Senko lands a jab to the head.
Senko throws a head kick that misses.
Senko misses with the combination.
Octopulus pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Senko moves to clinch but Octopulus breaks away

and Octopulus counters with a takedown into side control.
Octopulus scores with a couple of short elbows.

Jimmer Octopulus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
