Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yosemite Sam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yosemite Sam has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Raphael Chapman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yosemite Sam! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chapman darts in looking for a takedown but Sam gets double underhooks and turns Chapman into the cage. Sam is looking to take this one to the mat. Sam leaning against his opponent.
Sam wants a takedown but no success here.
Sam breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sam has his takedown stuffed and Chapman counters with a shoot takedown. Sam fights it but they end up in guard. Raphael Chapman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yosemite Sam. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Chapman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sam seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Sam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chapman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chapman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sam preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chapman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Chapman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Chapman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sam shoots in looking for a takedown. Chapman tries to sprawl out of it but Sam keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chapman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Chapman catches Sam with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Chapman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sam has hold of Chapman's hands but Chapman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chapman prevents Sam from improving his position. Sam on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Chapman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sam looks winded! Chapman is trying for a kimura here. Sam looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Chapman wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Raphael Chapman!
