Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parsons closes the distance and pushes Downs back into the cage.
Downs is looking to take this one to the mat.
A frustrated look appears on Parsons's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Parsons has Downs pressed against the cage, preventing Downs from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Parsons jumps guard but Downs stands there with Parsons around his waist. Parsons gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Parsons slows down the pace here.
Parsons is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Parsons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Parsons shoots in but Downs avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Downs counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Downs.
Downs wants to get up but he can't break Parsons's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Parsons wants to control the position but Downs says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Downs is looking to work some ground and pound but Parsons has wrist control.
Parsons can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Downs controls the pace.
Downs throws an elbow that misses. Parsons uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Downs's guard. Nice move by Parsons!

Parsons is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Downs has his foot on Parsons's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Parsons works his way back into a safe position though.
Downs manages to escape and get back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Downs passes into side control, despite Parsons's attempt to control the position.
Downs takes a little break here. Parsons wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Parsons tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Downs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Santo Downs will probably get the nod.

Downs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Parsons is aware though and is defending well.
Downs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parsons gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Downs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parsons doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parsons manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Downs has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
