Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delvin Shore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons comes into the arena with Sound of MAdness - Shinedown blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Delvin Shore! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simmons throws a big shot that misses. Shore avoids a punch combination nicely.
Simmons throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Simmons throws a jab when Shore was well out of range. Simmons misses with a few strikes there.
Shore goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Shore has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Simmons shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shore is trying to defend but Simmons finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Shore slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Simmons throws an elbow that misses. Shore uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Simmons's guard. Nice move by Shore! Shore trying to control the position from guard on top but Simmons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shore is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Delvin Shore has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Shore throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Simmons throws a right and a left that both miss. John Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shore connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like John Simmons has been cut. We've been hearing reports that Simmons has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Simmons fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Simmons loads up on a big right hand but Shore slips the punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Simmons looks to land a left hand but Shore moved out of range nicely. Simmons throws a nice looking combination but Shore bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Simmons uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shore. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice sprawl there from Shore as Simmons shoots in. Shore misses with a jab, cross combination.

and Shore counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Simmons lands a glancing blow to the side of Shore's head.
It looks like Delvin Shore has been cut. Simmons tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shore sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Simmons somewhat. Simmons scores with a hook to the body. Shore takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A telegraphed right hand from Shore misses the target. Simmons lands with a cross. Simmons connects with the punch. Simmons throws a hook but Shore blocks it. Simmons throws a big shot that misses. Simmons pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shore back to the cage. Simmons follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Simmons rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shore moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Shore stuns Simmons with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Shore connects with a nice looking jab.
A swing and a miss from Simmons. Simmons takes a swing at Shore's ribcage but misses. Shore lands a nice shot to the body.
Shore digs a good hook to Simmons's body.
Simmons is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shore cracks Simmons with a good jab. Shore goes for a small jab and connects. Now Shore goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Simmons stumbles back but Shore runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Simmons to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Simmons will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
