Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Namba Babakla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza comes into the arena with Los Porongas - Silêncio blaring out of the sound system. David Souza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Namba Babakla!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Souza throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Souza slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Souza throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Babakla sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Souza throws a nice looking combination but Babakla bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Babakla's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Babakla slips a straight right by Souza.
Souza tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Babakla is able to avoid easily.

Souza tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Babakla defends well and Souza ends up having to push Babakla into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Souza breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Souza's corner calls for a 1-2. Souza obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Babakla shoots in looking for a takedown. Souza tries to sprawl out of it but Babakla keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Souza manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Souza shoots in and drives through. Babakla sprawls well.

Babakla changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Souza tries to avoid it but Babakla manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Souza to the ground. Souza escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Souza leaves Babakla with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Namba Babakla wasn't active enough on the ground.

David Souza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Babakla feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Namba Babakla showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Namba Babakla comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
