Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Aguilar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Funke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funke has chosen never gonna stop as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergio Aguilar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cody Funke! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Funke moves out of range of the body kick. Funke lands a slapping body shot.
A leg kick checked by Funke. Funke looks to score with a jab to the body but Aguilar is just out of range. Funke fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Aguilar on the side of the head. Aguilar throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Aguilar looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Aguilar misses with an uppercut. Funke saw that one coming. Aguilar steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Funke. Aguilar gets a double leg takedown into Funke's guard. Funke controls Aguilar momentarily but Aguilar frees himself. Funke is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Aguilar postures up in Funke's guard and throws a big left but Funke blocks it. Funke looking for a sweep. Not yet Funke, not yet. Aguilar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aguilar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Aguilar is looking to advance position but Funke has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Aguilar is trying to escape the mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Funke trying to control but he's not successful this time. Aguilar is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Aguilar bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Funke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Funke working a defensive guard here.
Funke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aguilar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aguilar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Funke keeping full guard, as Aguilar tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Funke wants to stand up but Aguilar is controlling him. Aguilar sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Funke wants to sweep here but Aguilar controlling him for the moment. Funke looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Aguilar throws an elbow that misses. Funke uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Aguilar's guard. Nice move by Funke! Funke throwing strikes from guard but Aguilar blocks nicely. Funke has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Aguilar to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Funke is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Aguilar pulls down on the head and he's put Funke to sleep! This one is all over!
