Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nicholas Weichel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Haggstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Haggstrom has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nicholas Weichel! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Haggstrom! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weichel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Weichel misses with a takedown attempt - Haggstrom sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Weichel. Weichel with a poor takedown and Haggstrom moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicholas Weichel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Weichel lands a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Weichel engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Weichel drops back looking for a leg! Haggstrom is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Haggstrom manages to kick Weichel off! Weichel jumps back into Haggstrom's guard. Weichel trying to control but Haggstrom is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weichel throws a big right hand that misses. Haggstrom scores with a nice shot. Weichel slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Weichel wants to control but Haggstrom is keeping him busy. Haggstrom is looking for a sweep. Haggstrom is letting Weichel control him for a moment. Weichel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Haggstrom, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haggstrom tries to improve position but can't. Weichel throwing strikes but Haggstrom manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Weichel can't do much from the bottom here. Haggstrom tries to move into full mount but can't pass Weichel's legs. Haggstrom trying to control the action but Weichel is working from the bottom. Haggstrom is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weichel is looking to reverse the position. Weichel wants to control but Haggstrom postures up. Haggstrom trying to control the position but Weichel is working away. Haggstrom lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Weichel is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Haggstrom is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Weichel looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weichel moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Weichel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Haggstrom is one step ahead there. Weichel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Weichel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Haggstrom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Haggstrom stopping the sweep attempt from Weichel. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Weichel wants to stand up but Haggstrom is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nicholas Weichel dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Weichel decides to pull guard. Haggstrom thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Nicholas Weichel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Haggstrom trying to control but Weichel is working from the bottom. Haggstrom stands up over Weichel, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Weichel controlling Haggstrom's posture. Haggstrom prevents Weichel from getting back to his feet.

Weichel is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Haggstrom to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Haggstrom shrugs it off. Haggstrom wants to control but Weichel is having none of it. Weichel looking to control but Haggstrom is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Haggstrom suckers Weichel into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Haggstrom is now in Weichel's guard!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Haggstrom wants to control from the top but Weichel keeps moving. Weichel wants to sweep but no luck. Weichel is working hard here to advance position. Haggstrom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weichel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Haggstrom wants to control from the top but Weichel keeps moving. Haggstrom landing some decent shots from guard. Weichel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Haggstrom's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Weichel wants to control from the top but Haggstrom keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haggstrom is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Haggstrom is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Haggstrom is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Weichel reverses the position - he's now on top in Haggstrom's guard. Haggstrom looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Weichel is defending well. Haggstrom quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Weichel has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Haggstrom celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
