Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dewey Newman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Klaus! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klaus moves into the clinch. Klaus is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Klaus is trying to break free. Klaus is trying to break the clinch but Newman has him pressed against the cage. Klaus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Klaus closes the distance and clinches. Newman wants to take the fight to the mat but Klaus manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Newman prevents the takedown attempt.
Klaus manages to pull guard.
Newman postures up.
Klaus is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Newman is looking to work some ground and pound but Klaus has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Newman won't allow Klaus to get back to his feet. Newman really is a fat lump. Newman lands a couple of digs. Newman throws an elbow that misses. Klaus uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Newman's guard. Nice move by Klaus! Newman working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Klaus. Klaus showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Klaus passes easily into side control. Nice work. Newman is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Klaus is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Newman tries to reverse the position but Klaus maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Klaus tries to control but Newman wriggling away. Newman is trying desperately to improve position. Klaus throws some wild stikes that Newman manages to avoid easily.
Klaus throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Newman has his hands clasped together but Klaus breaks the hold and Newman is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Klaus!
